Solid Waste Collection Bids
The City of Henry requests proposals to provide residential and municipal solid waste for the City, as an independent contractor. The contract to be awarded has a three-year term, beginning February 1, 2025. Proposals will be accepted until Thursday, October 17th @ 3:00 PM at City Hall or by mail, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. The City reserves the right to reject all proposals. The City of Henry is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the collection, transportation, and disposal of solid waste for customers within the city limits. The scope of work will include the supply, delivery, maintenance, and weekly pickup of 95-gallon drums and dumpsters ranging from 2-yard to 6-yard capacities.
1. Scope of Work
The selected contractor will be responsible for:
- Supplying, delivering, and maintaining at least 160 95-gallon drums for residential waste collection.
- Supplying, delivering, and maintaining 10 dumpsters with sizes ranging from 2-yard to 6-yard capacities.
- Providing weekly pickup services for all 95-gallon drums and dumpsters.
- Disposing of collected waste at a state-licensed landfill in compliance with all local and state regulations.
2. Bid Submission Instructions
Bidders must submit their proposals in a sealed envelope clearly marked as:
"Solid Waste Collection Service Bid"
Submissions must include the contractor’s name and address on the outside of the envelope.

6. Bid Requirements
Bids must include:
- Detailed pricing for providing 95-gallon drum and dumpster services, including weekly pickup.
- A list of equipment to be used.
- Contractor’s qualifications, including experience in solid waste management.
- Insurance and bonding information.
7. Additional Terms
- The City of Henry does not provide recycling services.
- The contractor shall be responsible for all equipment maintenance and repairs.
- The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any formalities.
